The Orelle Patrimoine association opens the Saint-Maurice Church of Orelle (in the main village of the commune) during school holidays.
A symbol of the identity of the village of Orelle since 1430, this church has withstood six centuries of harsh winter and summer weather in the mountainous climate of the Maurienne Valley.
The Orelle Patrimoine association is dedicated to showcasing this monumental gem, continuously improved and restored architecturally, which has become a symbol of the opulence of the valley's churches. The church in the main village is open all summer every Thursday, as well as by reservation during the Christmas, Mardi Gras, and Easter holidays in winter.
In 1837, the Bishop of Maurienne stated that Saint-Maurice Church "deserves to be ranked among the most beautiful in the diocese." Come see for yourself and immerse yourself in the baroque world of this must-see monument of Savoy’s heritage.
