A new connection between Orelle and Val Thorens by gondola via Cime Caron, accessible on skis and on foot.
Winter 2021-2022 is a turning point in the history of Orelle, with the replacement of the "3 Vallées Express" gondola by the new Orelle gondola, as well as the creation of a second device (Orelle-Caron gondola) towards the summit of Cime Caron. They will allow for a direct connection between Orelle and Val Thorens by cable car (on skis or on foot). These new connections, made possible through the support of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region, will enable skiers and foot passengers to go from one valley to another, via the legendary Cime Caron, and its 360 ° panorama on the Alps. Foot passengers will now be able to reach the heart of Val Thorens, all in only 40 minutes ... "dry feet”
This new connection undeniably enriches the tourist offer, in winter and summer.
With a specific offer for foot passengers, clients will be able to live an immediate "high mountain" experience while enjoying the panorama from the summit of Cime Caron, at 3,200m above sea level ; they will enjoy the off-ski activities offered by Val-Thorens : CosmoJet toboggan run, Bee zip line, shopping, etc.
2 TIMES MORE FLOW AND SPEED
The Orelle-Cime Caron flow will be multiplied by 2, ie 2,500 people per hour of maximum flow. The two cable cars, "Orelle" and "Orelle-Cime Caron" will be among the fastest in France, less than 20 minutes between the village of Orelle and the legendary Cime Caron!
1st Orelle-Plan Bouchet section:
The journey time is significantly reduced: 13 minutes instead of 15 4,997m in length with a vertical drop of 1,462m D +.
2nd section Plan Bouchet- Cime Caron:
5 minutes of ascent by cable car to reach Cime Caron

For skiers, the Orelle-Caron gondola means there is a second link between Orelle and Val-Thorens whereas the entire link was previously carried solely by the Rosaël chairlift.
For foot passengers: 40 mins to reach Val-Thorens.
More comfort & services
The panoramic gondolas will have 10 seats, with dedicated indoor locations for skis and luggage. Service will be the order of the day, and has been implemented to make holidays as easy as possible for clients. The departure station of the Orelle gondola will be equipped with ski pass distributors, group changing rooms and ski lockers.
(150 ski lockers including 38 lockers for 2 people, 112 lockers for 4 people at a rate of 6 € per night for lockers of 2 people / 12 € per night for lockers of 4 people)
At plan Bouchet, the baggage locker will always be accessible.
